Minnesota Somali Fraud

I moved to Minnesota in 1981 and left in 1995. Prior to moving there a former coworker told me about the very cosmopolitan an intelligent population there. During that time the Minnesota Twins won two World Series, the Minnesota North Stars had not left for Dallas, the Timberwolves did not exist yet, and the Vikings were still trying to win the Superbowl. And yes, the AWA sold out the Saint Paul Civic center arena plus a theater next door for a big match.
There were at least three farm cooperatives headquartered there, 3M and Medtronic were dominating, Open Systems Accounting Software was on an upward trend, and Control Data and IBM were big players. The local music scene was flourishing with an artist by the name of Prince becoming dominant.
Minnesota was a state that many migrated to and the residents were welcoming regardless of race and creed. It was ok to be gay or lesbian. People assimilated and enjoyed the Winter Festival in St. Paul and the Aquatennial in Minneapolis. The state fair drew well.
Generally when an ethnic group comes to a new area they will live somewhat together but there will be those who more want to assimilate and will move away from their “community”. This had been fairly easy when the immigrants were European. They looked fairly similar. Language was the larger barrier. But the majority of the immigrants learned English, the common language, fairly quickly. There was also was a desire to join this country which was not ruled like their home countries.
Minnesota welcomed the Somali civil war refugees. Many went to work in the traditional economic areas, poultry, meatpacking, and agricultural processing. Traditional industries that welcomed many immigrants and refugees in the past including Italian, Irish, Hmong, and Hispanic.
Traditionally the next generation of immigrants became more integrated in the economy as educational capabilities brought them on board. The income levels grew, some better than others. Much depended on attitude.
I had seen a report that government fraud was a way of life in Somalia. It could be that is what has led to the events in Minnesota. You-tuber Nick Shirley made a documentary on Somali fraud in Minneapolis. Watch it here https://youtu.be/r8AulCA1aOQ?si=QtTYhJ0cxqM7pTuO It seems that three livelihoods tied to government funding and reimbursements have high corruption, day care, Autism support, and Home Health care.
These three are pretty good picks as there is a number of identity protections built in. Generally identification of children are protected from the press. Also there are Hipaa rules for health related items. Both of these will generally allow the government reimbursement process to be somewhat lose as getting identification permissions can be work. It can also keep the media at bay when reporting.
The Minnesota Somali Fraud situation is also escalated in a way that we can thank the Obamas for. The Obamas always went out of their way to promote difference of opinion and law enforcement as racist. In watching Shirley’s video the race card is played by the some of the Somalis. They won’t talk to Shirley because of the color of his skin. Also the sympathetic liberals claim that you are racist in pursuing the claims of fraud by labelling those who want the mess cleaned up as racist. Thank you Obamas!
Out of the eighty thousand or so Somalis that are in Minnesota there has to be someone who is not a part of this corruption. They need to demand accountability from their brethren. If not, they are accomplices. Do we deport the guilty? That depends on a number of items including their immigration status. At a minimum they must face jail time and forever not be allowed to vote in the United States.
We also must demand full accountability from all levels of government starting with Tim Walz and moving to Keith Ellison. Ellison who also has numerous items to answer to including the interesting situation his son, Jeremiah Ellison has created with the Minneapolis City Council, must prosecute this fraud immediately. If not, he becomes an accessory.

One more note. I cried when I left Minnesota for Illinois back in 1995. I had enjoyed and thrived in my Minnesota tenure. I started my first business there. I did my first stint in broadcast radio. I had some good jobs until I stayed home to be a house dad.at that time it was a good place to start a family. Our last stop was St. Cloud. I have seen reports out of St Cloud abut problems caused by Somali immigrants. The report I saw on this could not be labelled as racist as the ones interviewed in the report were black also.
This is not the Minnesota that I left. It has become a disaster by a political party using people and a narrative to keep political and financial power. I guess I am crying now as I will not go back until this is fixed.
