the United Nations going broke

The United Nations is hurting for money. Interesting for an
organization that cannot do what its initial charter was “to
maintain international peace and security.” I would say that Tim
Laudner’s 1987 season and World Series contributions with a sub
.200 batting average far outshines the United Nations ability to
maintain international peace and security.
478 wars have
occurred globally between 1945 and May 2021, according to data from
the United Nations Association Coventry Branch. The UN has also
played a role in averting potential wars through diplomacy and
peacekeeping, such as during the Cuban Missile Crisis and in
mediating peace agreements in El Salvador and Guinea. Yet, the number
of violent conflicts has reached its highest level since World War
II, with 2 billion people—about a quarter of humanity—living in
conflict-affected areas as of 2023. (search.brave.com AI summary)
There is a shit ton
of money that has been dumped into the United Nations since 1945.
Recent data shows that the UN received $74.3 billion in 2022 and the
United States being the largest donor, contributing $18.1 billion in
2022, or over a quarter of the total. (search.brave.com AI summary)
This article will
not do the math to see the total since 1945, but shit ton of money is
a good description. There is also no guarantee that the UN did much
to prevent wars and maintain international peace and security. It
has done a much better job of fleecing money that the League of
Nations did.
If the United
nations as doing any type of job, why would so many of the peace
deals need to be brokered by the United States and other free
countries. Why does Chinese Taiwan need to keep the United States
and other countries informed on the encroachment of communist Red
China? Why did Britain have to defend the Falkland Islands. Why did
Russia invade the Ukraine not once but twice since I bought my Kiev
Cameras?
Convince me
otherwise, but the United Nations has been nothing but a cash drain
on the world giving country club jobs to diplomats and a certain cash
flow to New York City. That shit ton of money collected all of these
years could have been spent better!
The UN can go
bankrupt!
