Virginia Gone Wild

It's Too Important

Recently reading David J. Harris Jr’s Facebook post and supported by the TV news report shared from the Based Mother on Facebook we are learning that there is no tax to be not on the table for Virginia. Virginia went from having a moderate Republican governor, Glenn Youngkin, to an off the wall wolf in sheep’s clothing Democrat governor, Abigail Spanberger.

Looking at the list as shown below, it looks like Virginia is preparing for some type of Armageddon.  The Armageddon is the loss of the Federal DC Bloat in the northeast corner highlighted by Arlington and Alexandria.  Loss of these jobs can have a fast impact on the finances of the state.

But does creating a tax climate that makes living and business more expensive save a state?  Will tourists stay or visit when they find out that their trip will be riddled with additional tax expense? Is this what the residents of Virginia really voted for?

I joke with people who will record a sporting event or television show so they can watch and skip over the commercials, or watch streaming content with commercials that do not allow you forward past the commercials that I have no problems with commercials. In part of my life my paycheck was backed by commercials when I was an on the air radio personality.  Without that financial support I would have been doing something else.

Will the raft of government workers in Virginia take my approach to commercials and parallel it to their situation?  How about those who lose their government jobs? Will they take my approach to hustle the next gig or create a business or opportunity?  Will they depend on the government to live and not try the private sector.  Is there not a need to put real businesses in Arlington and Alexandria?

An additional note.   States like California and Illinois are looking to propose these draconian taxes if they are not using then now.  Do they think they will fair any better considering both are currently losing population.

Prove me wrong Virginia, but I bet many will leave also unless your residents come up with something else to do to make a living therefore nullifying this need for government control and taxation!

Look at the bills Virginia Democrats are attempting to pass now that they have majority.

- Loosening election integrity laws
- A bill that would prohibit requiring verification of nonprofits that receive federal dollars “So it's like an anti anti-fraud measure”
- Allowing state contracts to be given out based on the race of the contractor
- Ending qualified immunity for police
- New taxes on Uber rides, Amazon orders, new higher tax brackets, new taxes on investments, raising the hotel tax, new taxes on home deliveries, gym memberships, streaming services, barbershops, dry cleaners and more.
- A slew of anti-second amendment bills
- Banning gas powered leaf blowers
- Weakening penalties for even the worst crimes, murder, rape, robbery, assaulting police officers
- Creating a process for letting convicts out early with no limiting principles to the crime in question

Breakdown of additional taxes:

- Additional local sales tax in all Virginia counties and cities
- New personal property tax
- Gym membership tax
- Highway use fees
- Home repair tax
- Vehicle repair tax
- Electric leaf blowers and electric landscaping equipment tax
- Large employer tax

This is what they’d do to America if they ever gain the power again…
